Another year...how does that keep happening?

My best friend was telling me just last night that she was really having to think back to how old my princess is. I recall that my parents just recently disagreed on the number. Of course, my mother could remember where each birthday party had been and she was right, 4 years old.
side note...I slipped and told the now 4 1/2 year old this morning at 1 a.m. that it was now 2008 and she would turn 5. I guess after a rockin' New Years Eve party (if you call watching the weather channel at 11:59 p.m. to make sure we didn't miss the new year/with 2 kids in tow rockin). Now, I am normally better about telling her things too far in advance, but apparently the sleep deprivation did not allow logical thinking at the moment. A great majority of the morning was spent discussing how she would be 5 this year (not until May 28th). Seriously, our party last night was exactly how I like it, we were missing a few of our good friends but the last bash at Muirwood Circle was great, thanks Edmonsons!

Anyway, I digress (as usual). How can it be 2008, already? I have been driving for 18 years, I graduated from high school 14 years ago, college 11 years, started dating Brian 12 years ago and am about to celebrate my 9th wedding anniversary. Did I mention that on top of the anniversary next week, that I also celebrate my 33 years of life (the same age Jesus was when He died, I believe) and my baby, Chunky Monkey, will turn 1! How does that keep happening?

Of course, the McCaskills have listed their goals for 2008. This is something that Stiemy has had us doing for several years now. There are always those reoccuring goals and I would love to tell you this time next year that we will have been a success at them all. I guess I will just need to keep blogging to keep you in suspense. Out of privacy for my family (Stiemy already thinks I have welcomed the world into our home via this site..what all 4 readers now) I will not list the goals. I wouldn't want you to think we were failures 1/2 way through the year.

For now, I will end my rambling and just simply say Happy New Year. Maybe this year we will all take time to slow down and enjoy the passing days and our growing children.

God bless you and yours in 2008!

I am trying to do better about checking your blog, so of course I teared up about what you have learned from dear old Mom & Dad. Glad to know what meant the most to you!!And..since we couldn't stay awake long enough to greet 2008, it seems the weather channel would be an accurate way to not miss the "Big 12:00"!!
