The next year followed with the Princess only 3 months old (and we thought that was an adjustment). In 2004 my brother and his wife announced that they were expecting. One of the hurricanes that year tore through the Gulf Coast and we had to reroute to Hot Springs (fun, but not quite white sand).
In 2005 immediatly following Hurricane Katrina we made the tough decision to continue with our vacation to the beach and to support the Alabama and Florida economy. After loading up with a 2 year old and 4 month old we got to the beach for everyone to get a stomach bug. Great fun with the family. Last summer our little man, Hartley V, was born and 1/2 of our clan spent the summer at CHOP with him. We didn't quite make it down here then but I can remember standing over his bed in Philadelphia telling him how much he would love the beach!
So back to this week. As we played in the pool this afternoon, I cannot tell you how rewarding (and crazy) it was to watch those babies all be here. Honestly, it is not the quiet relaxing days that we once enjoyed, but to see Hartley with us and that smile on his face as he splashed in the water was amazing.
God is good and V is our little miracle. I will try to get some pictures posted while we are here. Have a great week!
